Third Man Limited (Upendo Honey) is a Kigoma-based honey and wax processing company whose mission is to be a leading Tanzanian social enterprise that connects local honey producers with conscious consumers who value quality, sustainability, and social impact. Its vision is to empower rural communities in western Tanzania to protect natural habitats and earn sustainable livelihoods through the production and sale of high-quality organic honey in global markets.

The Sales Officer, who will be based in Dar es salaam, is responsible for driving sales growth and expanding the market presence of our honey products through the establishment of various sales channels (incl. Community Traders Program, growth of Hotels, Restaurants, Cafés and supermarket accounts) in Dar es Salaam and surrounding regions. 

This field-based role involves developing strong relationships with clients and customers, identifying new market opportunities, and collaborating with internal teams to achieve sales goals. We are seeking a solution-oriented individual who can demonstrate proactive leadership, commercial judgement, and independent problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Proactively identify, record, and follow up on hazards, near misses, incidents, and accidents, 
  • leading or supporting investigations and ensuring corrective and preventive actions are completed and effective. 
  • Conduct HSSE inspections, audits, and risk assessments at the facility and in the field, working with operational teams to address identified risks. 
  • Promote a strong safety culture by providing on-the-job guidance, encouraging open reporting, and supporting supervisors and managers in embedding HSSE into daily work. 
  • Track, analyse, and report on HSSE indicators, including incidents, near misses, training coverage, and inspection findings, providing clear updates and trends to management. 

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, Engineering, Agriculture or a related field. 
  • National Occupation Safety and Health Course (NOSHC) Certificate by OSHA
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Fluent in spoken and written English and Kiswahili 
  • Proactive, hands-on, and able to learn by doing 
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Previous experience in an HSSE / HSE / OSH role, preferably in processing, agricultural, or field-based environments 
  • Knowledge of ISO standards (e.g. ISO 45001 / ISO 14001)
